The Institute was created out of a lead $10 million gift by Christine E.
Lynn. Ms. Lynn gave the gift in honor of Gloria Drummond, the Hospital's
founder, on her 80th birthday. Supported by the largesse of other local
philanthropists, it now serves as a centralized address for the finest
and most sophisticated women's healthcare services in South Florida.
The Institute is led by Kathy Schilling, MD. A board-certified and internationally
recognized radiologist, Dr. Schilling joined Boca Raton Regional Hospital
in 1988. Under her stewardship, the Schmidt Family Center for Breast Care
at the Institute has developed into the area's premier and most preferred
breast program, performing nearly 100,000 screening and diagnostic procedures a year.
"Our goal is to meld our leading position in breast health with the
significant expertise Boca Regional has in such areas as pelvic health,
cardiovascular disease and other important specialties," said Dr.
Schilling. "In the new Christine E. Lynn Women's Health &
Wellness Institute we have done just that and now offer a spectrum of
services, all in one place and at one time."
