BOCA RATON, FL – October 11, 2017 – Boca Raton Regional Hospital announces the appointment of Pooja Patel,
MD, to the Hospital’s Marcus Neuroscience Institute and BocaCare®
physician network. Dr. Patel is a board-certified general neurologist
who is fellowship-trained in clinical neurophysiology. She will assume
the role as Director of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at the Institute.
Dr. Patel’s clinical specialties include epilepsy and headaches.
Dr. Patel attended medical school at St. George’s University School
of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. She completed her Neurology residency
and a clinical neurophysiology fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
Dr. Patel is involved in clinical trials for newer anti-epileptic drugs,
participated in multiple research projects and has presented abstracts
at the prestigious American Academy of Neurology and American Epilepsy
Society annual meetings.
Dr. Patel is a member of the American Academy of Neurology as well as
the American Medical Student Association, and is board-certified in neurology.
