Brian M. Snelling, MD, Joins Marcus Neuroscience Institute

BOCA RATON, FL – August 13, 2018 ­– Officials at Boca Raton Regional Hospital today announced the appointment of Brian M. Snelling, MD, to the medical staff of the Marcus Neuroscience Institute (MNI) and BocaCare® – Physician Network.

“Dr. Snelling is a most welcome addition to our team of physicians,” said Frank Vrionis, MD, PhD, Director of MNI. “He is a highly skilled neurosurgeon and will increase our capabilities in stroke and endovascular neurosurgery.”

Dr. Snelling is board-eligible in neurosurgery and endovascular neurosurgery. His special areas of interest include cerebrovascular neurosurgery, cranial neurosurgery and endovascular neurosurgery. He completed his undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Engineering degree which included a concentration in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

He earned his medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia. His postgraduate training included a residency program in neurological surgery and a fellowship in endovascular neurosurgery, both at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Snelling has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles, book chapters and invited editorials, in such noted publications as Journal of Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery, Journal of Neuro-Oncology and Journal of Neurointerventional Surgery. His research interests include quality improvement in acute stroke, novel endovascular therapies for stroke treatment and medical device development. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, American Association of Neurological Surgeons/Congress of Neurological Surgeons Joint Cerebrovascular Section, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and Society of Neurointerventional Surgery.

The Marcus Neuroscience Institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital is an innovative nexus for neurologic and neurosurgical care.
