Personalized Breast Care is Here: Boca Raton Regional Hospital and GE Healthcare Join Forces to Tackle Cancer

Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital to offer GE Healthcare’s most comprehensive interconnected breast cancer screening and diagnostic solution for advanced breast care in a new “National Show Site”

The Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital and GE Healthcare, today, announced a first-of-its kind agreement between these two leading institutions to advance breast health care. Under the agreement, GE Healthcare has established the Institute as a national show site and identified the framework for developing a training Center of Excellence rooted in education and awareness around GE Healthcare’s breast cancer screening and diagnostic technologies, care pathways and outcomes targeted to meet the unique needs of all women.

Effectively combatting breast cancer requires cutting-edge technology, dedication and experts across multi-disciplinary fields. The Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute will showcase GE Healthcare’s most comprehensive set of advanced imaging tools for detecting breast cancer in one clinical setting. As a national show site, its specialists and support staff will welcome visitors from around the world to share insights into its own clinical protocols and expertise related to GE Healthcare’s interconnected breast care solution.

“Being recognized as a GE Healthcare national show site is a testament to the dedication, training and expertise of our clinical staff to utilize advanced technology to better serve our patients,” said Kathy Schilling, MD, Medical Director of the Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute. “In this era of outcomes and value-based healthcare, a long-standing collaboration such as the one we have with GE Healthcare is critical to delivering on our commitment to confidently meet the unique medical needs of every woman.”

The training Center of Excellence is intended as a place for breast health providers to convene and benefit from best practice sharing, clinical expertise and technology leadership, all of which has the potential to positively influence the delivery of health care within the region and across the U.S.

“The Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute has shown a deep commitment to and shares our common goal of providing patients the most advanced personalized breast cancer care possible,” said Lee Cooper, President and CEO, GE Healthcare, USCAN. “This agreement takes that commitment even further by amplifying their success at technology optimization, leadership development and accomplishments around clinical, operational and economic excellence which we believe results in better patient outcomes.”

Last month, the Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute announced it had acquired Invenia* ABUS (Automated Breast Ultrasound). The addition of Invenia ABUS completes the Institute's technology suite of GE Healthcare's personalized breast solution - the only technology set that features products for both 3D mammography and FDA approved ABUS screening. These two products provide clinicians with the innovative tools to meet the unique screening needs of women with all tissue types and nearly half the female population with dense breasts. ¹
