Boca Raton Regional Hospital Names New Foundation President

Officials at Boca Raton Regional Hospital today announced the appointment of Mark Larkin, C.F.R.E, as its new President of the Hospital’s Foundation. In this capacity, Mr. Larkin will lead the organization’s fundraising efforts, including major gift and donor cultivation, capital campaigns, special events and other philanthropic initiatives. He will assume his new duties in July of this year.

Mr. Larkin joins Boca Regional after serving the last 12 years as Vice President for Philanthropy for CentraCare Health in St. Cloud, Minnesota. There, he was responsible for growing CentraCare’s Foundation and enhancing its effectiveness and efficiency across the organization’s enterprise, establishing major gift protocols, expanding their donor base, growing the Foundation’s assets materially and completing two significant and successful capital campaigns.

Prior to his position with CentraCare, Mr. Larkin was Vice President of Resource Development for the United Way of the St. Paul Area.

Larkin will replace Jan Savarick, who spearheaded the Hospital’s Foundation since 2002. During her tenure, Ms. Savarick fostered a dramatic renaissance in philanthropic support of Boca Regional; one that gave rise to such notable Hospital enhancements as the Eugene M. & Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute’s Harvey & Phyllis Sandler Pavilion, the Marcus Neuroscience Institute and Schmidt Family Pavilion, the Christine E. Lynn Women’s Health & Wellness Institute, the Gloria Drummond Physical Rehabilitation Institute, the Irving & Barbara C. Gutin Center for Robotic Surgery and the Wold Family Center for Emergency Medicine. She and her staff also made the Hospital’s signature events, such as the Go Pink Luncheon and Hospital Ball, into some of the most successful fundraising endeavors in the country.

“We are most enthused with Mark joining our Foundation and confident that under his leadership it will continue the marvelous efforts that Jan and her staff have done,” said Jerry Fedele, President and CEO of Boca Raton Regional Hospital. “Jan’s legacy is one of profound commitment to our Hospital, our philanthropists and the community at large. We look forward to Mark maintaining this tradition of excellence that is now so firmly ingrained in our Foundation.”
