Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation again partnered with the George
Snow Scholarship Fund to provide free college physicals and immunizations
for 2015 scholarship recipients. Snow Scholars were administered complete
college physicals by Boca Raton Regional Hospital Emergency Department
physician Evan Goldstein, MD. Meningitis vaccines were underwritten by
the Hospital Foundation.
This year marks the 33rd anniversary of the George Snow Scholarship Fund,
a Boca Raton-based 501(c) 3 Public Charity, which provides college scholarships
to deserving students in Palm Beach and Northern Broward Counties. The
four-year scholarships are designed to bridge the gap between financial
aid granted by colleges, state and federal aid programs and the recipient’s
own resources. Boca Raton Regional Hospital partnered with the George
Snow Scholarship Fund 10 years ago and has been providing physicals and
immunization services to scholarship recipients ever since.
“It’s a great cause and I’m proud to play a role in
it,” said Dr. Goldstein. “Easing the costs associated with
going to college for these deserving students is extremely gratifying
both professionally and personally.”
“We are so grateful to Dr. Goldstein and the Boca Raton Regional
Hospital Foundation for the valuable service they provide to our scholars,”
commented Tim Snow, President of the Scholarship Fund. “We feel
very fortunate to have them included in our family of supporters. For
our scholars, it saves them a great deal of money and allows them to get
immunizations they might not otherwise be able to receive.”
