Officials at Boca Raton Regional Hospital’s Marcus Neuroscience Institute
(MNI) today announced the appointment of Patricio S. Espinosa, MD, MPH
as Director of Neurology. He has been serving on the medical staff of
MNI since December 2014.
In this capacity, Dr. Espinosa will lead the Institute’s team of
neurologists and offer specialized expertise in epilepsy and sleep disorders.
Dr. Espinosa earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central del
Ecuador and a Masters in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg
School of Public Health. He completed residencies in Internal Medicine
and Neurology at the University of Kentucky, where he served as Chief
Resident in Neurology. Dr Espinosa was also fellowship-trained in epilepsy
and sleep disorders at the Harvard Medical School.
His research has appeared in more than 25 prestigious, peer-reviewed publications
including the
Journal of Neurology, Journal of Clinical Neurology and Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease. In addition, he is a co-author of one textbook and author of six book
chapters related to his specialties.
Dr. Espinosa is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American
Epilepsy Society, American Clinical Neurophysiology Society and American
Academy of Sleep Medicine.
